ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to welcome expanded investment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) across key sectors including renewable energy, artificial intelligence, fintech, agriculture, and minerals.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the UAE’s 54th National Day in Islamabad, the Prime Minister highlighted the UAE’s crucial support for Pakistan’s economic stabilisation efforts. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with senior government officials, attended the event.

“The economic partnership between Pakistan and the UAE is a shining example. The UAE continues to extend critical support to Pakistan’s strengthening economy,” PM Shehbaz said.

UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening ties across diverse sectors such as the economy, energy, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. He noted that both nations share a common vision for regional peace, innovation, and development.

“We see tremendous potential for collaboration in renewable energy, AI, sustainability, and economic diversification,” the envoy remarked.

Prime Minister Shehbaz extended warm felicitations to the UAE leadership on their National Day and fondly recalled his early memories of the country. He paid tribute to the contributions of 1.8 million Pakistanis living and working in the Emirates, calling them a “solid foundation” of the bilateral relationship.

Describing the UAE as “a land that believed in possibilities long before they became realities,” he praised the country’s extraordinary development journey, which he said continues to inspire admiration worldwide.

Both PM Shehbaz and the UAE ambassador expressed hopes for enduring peace and shared prosperity in the region. The Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Dar, and Ambassador Al Zaabi jointly cut a cake to mark the occasion.

The UAE celebrates its National Day every year on December 2. In a message earlier in the day, PM Shehbaz underscored the historic goodwill, shared values, and mutual trust that underpin Pakistan–UAE relations.
